We have suffered under the rigid constraints of this tyranny long enough! We have let our minds become enslaved to the tireless meme-machine! No longer! No longer shall five simple words, ordinary words corrupted to the causes of the unjust, cause us to groan and double over in the agony of our helpless imprisonment! Read these words, my friends, the balm for all your ills... and be free. And pass it on, so that all might be similarly liberated.

But you don't understand, dear.

...but, but, the point is that you've un-lost now. You're free.

I know things like this induce a sense of learned helplessness, but really... the cage door is open now. You can go.

Clearly, you are DOING IT WRONG. :D

You just need to accept that you no longer need the Game. That the idea of it no longer needs to constrain you. That you don't have to react to it that way any more. For some people the porcess of release might be slow, but I believe in the ability of everyone to separate themselves from this mental construct.

You are no longer playing the Game. It's over. You are free to go.

Re: winning would be doing it wrong
I understand your reluctance to be freed from oppression, typical of those who have been subjugated. Do not worry. You will find a way to cast down your shackles someday.

I voluntarily surrended a few years back. Glorious defeat is so much more satisfying than the endless struggle, in this context at least.

Cheater. What happened to the double backturn rule?

I overruled it with Twiddleby's Exception Gambit, followed by a Cringeford Twist to bring it back into play.

Kids these days.

Twiddleby's Exception Gambit was only made part of the official rules very recently. Back in my day that would have been an illegal move; the best thing you could have done was to play Hornback's Device and hope to get a cross-circle manoeuvre.

[edit: By which I mean the Gambit was only made *possible* by the rule changes. Looking it up in my rulebook and comparing to the new rules, it looks like my rulebook states that before you can cross the Victoria Line, you have to have first played a double backturn, while the new rules only stipulate the performance of a single backturn.

I hate rule changes.]

I actually didn't think you could use the Gambit at all unless you'd previously opened with either Euston, Camden Town or (in a pinch) something on the Circle line.

and Piccadilly Circus must also be in play.

Yes, but this IS a Monday in a leap year, which means that Camden Town and Piccadilly Circus are treated as having been ALREADY IN PLAY!
